THE LIBERTINES Reunion mit Tour und voraussichtlich neuem Album

Es bleibt einfach immer spannend. Anfang des Jahres kam Skandalnudel Pete Doherty mal wieder gemeinsam mit den Babyshambles auf Deutschlandtour, jetzt steht und eine größere Reunion ins Haus, denn am 29 Juni 2014 werden The Libertines in Glasgow wieder live auftreten und damit eine Reunion-Tour einläuten. War zunächst noch nur von einem einzelnen Auftritt im Londoner Hyde Park die Rede, wurden nun bereits 9 Konzerte bestätigt, die die Libertines sogar zum ersten Mal seit über 10 Jahren wieder abseits der britischen Inseln präsentieren. Auch zwei Konzerte in Deutschland stehen auf dem Programm, deutsche Fans müssen sich allerdings –so sie nicht schon vorab ins Ausland reisen- bis Anfang Oktober gedulden, wenn The Libertines zunächst in Berlin und Düsseldorf auftreten werden. Und sogar ein neues Album mit älterem, bisher unveröffentlichtem Material, aber auch einigen neuen Songs, erscheint mittlerweile nicht mehr unmöglich wie Pete Doherty dem Daily Record zu Protokoll gab:

»A new record is exactly what we’re (Anmerkung: we = Pete Doherty & Carl Barât) talking about, that’s the dream, really. Finish off all those ideas that we never completed back in the day, all those songs we never played for anyone else that have been floating around in the ether. We’re also wanting to try out a few new ideas so it wouldn’t just be old stuff. I don’t want to tempt fate but we both have the desire, so I think it will happen. It’s important to be honest and there’s still a lot we have to say. We’re still relevant.«
